SIDES: Acrylic Painting and Video Projection
MIDDLE: Found objects and LED Lights
INTERSTICE (2023) is a three-part installation reflecting on Vancouver’s Hastings Street and ongoing state violence against unhoused communities, staging a struggle between predator and prey, power and vulnerability, and waking life and dreams. The side panels use acrylic paintingS and video projection to render wolf‑and‑sheep as bluRred figures that never fully resolve, while the central assemblage of found objects and LED lights builds a fragile altar from the street’s leftover materials. Together, these elements ask whether it is still possible to imagine collective action and solidarity in a city that keeps trying to erase visible poverty.
